Amish Cabbage Casserole for Thanksgiving

                                           Makes a great addition to the Thanksgiving meal.
Recipe from Amish country from Lovis Stoltzfus in Kinzers, PA . A good and satisfying side dish.


  1. Cook cabbage in salted water until tender; drain thoroughly.
  2. In a large skillet, sauté onion in 4 Tbsp.of butter until tender.
  3. Add soup and cheese, heat and stir until melted.
  4. Stir in cabbage (salt& pepper if desired).
  5. Transfer to an un-greased 2-quart baking dish.
  6. In a small skillet, melt remaining 1 Tbsp.butter; stir in breadcrumbs.
  7. Brown lightly.
  8. Remove from heat and sprinkle over casserole.
  9. Bake uncovered at 350ºF.for 20-30 minutes, or until heated through.
